I Wish I knew

By Alexandra Saavedra

I wish I knew; I just wish I knew

I wish I knew how amazing being a kid was

I wish I knew how important innocence was

I wish I knew how important cherishing family was

I wish I knew nobody lives forever

They can die today or tomorrow

They can hurt today or tomorrow

I wish I knew how important time was together

I wish I knew how terrible alcohol and drugs were

I wish I knew

I wish I knew sometimes your parents need you more than you need them

I wish I knew

I wish I knew what abuse was

I wish I knew what love was

I really, really wish I knew

I wish I understood

I wish I listened

I wish I could

I wish I knew how money really can be the root of all evil

If you let it

I wish I knew how to spend it

I wish I knew; I wish I knew

But, If I had one wish, I would wish you knew too
