The Lonely Stranger
I see you stranger, in the dark,
You walk at night with no purpose it seems, gently gazing back at me,
Walking aimlessly into the black night, eyes wide and always bright,
You always stare as you delicately walk, you look at me but never stop,
I wonder stranger, are you hurt? You look in pain but I see no wounds,
You’re weak but still you stride, alone with nothing behind your eyes,
I want to ask, “stranger where are you going? Why do you only walk at night?”
Lonely stranger, does this chaotic world filled with terror not make you fright?
I can’t tell stranger, have I seen you before? So many nights have passed,
You scare me stranger, your very cold eyes, I almost feel what you feel inside,
What are you hiding? Walking in the cold night air, are you even going anywhere?
I close my eyes, then look in the mirror, you’re always there, waiting silently to look,
I see you stranger, in the dark,
